Bio

Summer A.H. Christiansen is a queer & neurodivergent writer, educator, and lifelong Alaskan residing on the unceded land of T'aaḵu Kwáan and A'akw Kwáan.

Her work has been published in Bell Anthologies, Silver Rose Magazine, Tidal Echoes, Alaska Women Speak, and Drizzle Review.

She is a graduate of the Rainier Writing Workshop (RWW) at Pacific Lutheran University and holds an MFA in Creative Writing: Non-Fiction. Summer’s work often focuses on the subject of the body and her queer identity.

She has been in education for the past 10 years and has taught kindergarteners up to university freshmen. She specializes in teaching the subject of English to secondary students and enjoys working with middle and high schoolers.

She holds a 300-hour YTT from Good Ground Yoga and teaches regular classes at Auke Bay Yoga in Juneau, Alaska.
